Preparation of old antifouling and application of F2 system

Surface Preparation
 

• Removing old antifouling from Hypalon without causing damage is difficult, so take great care.
• Gently rub the surface with P180 to remove any soft material, degrease, rinse with fresh water and allow the surface to dry.

Application
 

• When dry, open a tin of Black Adhesive Coat, stir well and apply one layer using a laying off technique (horizontal followed by vertical strokes). Apply at 100 microns (10m2 per litre).
• When Adhesive Coat is touch dry, usually after 3 hours (there is no maximum overcoating time), apply one layer of the Top Coat. Open the tin, stir well and apply again using a laying-off technique. Apply at 100 microns (10m2 per litre).
• F2 Top Coat has been designed to self-level to a mirror finish; however, should there be a slight ripple, use a Tipping Brush to smooth the finish gently; this can only be done within 15 minutes of the initial application.

• When Adhesive Coat is touch dry, usually after 3 hours (there is no maximum overcoating time), apply one layer of the Top Coat. Open the tin, stir well and apply again using a laying-off technique. Apply at 100 microns (10m2 per litre).
